Yes the filmy bug did rub off onto me at this entirely thespian bistro. Strategically placed just at the same level as the PVR Plaza, CP, this quirky restaurant drips drama right from the threshold. Blame it on the place if you transcend a filmy buff, because you’d surely be noteworthy while on your way out.
Call it twist of fate but the owner of FILMY Café & Bar and pioneer of Deez Biryani, Thakur Bhuvan Singh, also has quite a mightily filmy name – with a make-believe epithet ‘kuwarsa’. He said, “We wanted a thematically filmy setup keeping in mind the place already has a dramatic vibe and stature. What a better way than creating an equivalent place for the gastronomes with an effervescent feel. Filmy Café & Bar is suitable for all age groups and people who are crazy about some filmy gupshup“.
With walls adorned with film posters, iconic characters and peculiar dialogues from illustrious movies – the place exudes vivacity only movie buffs can relate to. The ambiance is quirky with a union of cozy upholstery and snug lounging. Bollywood and Hollywwod confederate, notably, to set the tonality. The uninhibited feel is the most striking here – one could loaf around with friends or enjoy a double flavored apple-grape hukka while grooving to the most energetic and high-octane Bollywood, popular filmy music.
The food is quite good! It goes well with the kind of mood the restaurant creates. Let me recommend you the munch-ons that combine well with the vibe.
Order a spicy Chciken Tikka thin-crust Pizza – delightful!
The Kebabs are excellent here – succulent and lusciously coated with spices – go for the fish, the murgh malai and the chicken tikkas alongside your grog.
Grilled fish with lemon sauce and sautéed veggies was perfect – the fish cut through the succulent and was extremely flavorful.
Try Amitabh Bachchan Burger to eat filmy and be Filmy!
PS: my friend loved the LIIT – just the right amount of sweetness with desired punch of spices and booze hit the bull’s eye for him. Highly Recommended so!
I didn’t like the Sangria – made in Sula sugared beyond limits.
Have a Good Time and come out, maybe, citing your favorite dialogue from one of your favorite films –
“Main madira nahi peeti ji”
