Morning Baking tute over frothy hot cappuccino at the gorgeous Westin, Gurgaon – defying the biting, glacial weather, by all means. Had it not been for my friend, Sukhdeep Bahra’s warm comity, I would’ve been bitten by the chill. We geared up, with our respective paraphernalia, to attend Chef Abdul Wahid’s Baking classes. To attend any class at the Culinary Academy, Westin, is always fun – interactive and informative. Perfect time to learn baking cookies – ring your sleigh bells, sing carols and savor delicious cookies, it’s Christmas Peeps! The Chef, most willingly, explained the steps from scratch. He was open to queries and doubts. From the scratch, We learned how to make those delicious ginger cookies, after the chef kneaded his magic in the flour dough. You could also be a part if this Culinary Academy – learn, interact and also practice alongside. By the end of it you would be awarded the certificate of skill – that’s the coolest.
The hotel, in all it’s vitality and happy decorations, is also promoting a profound economical cause – save trees!
In the attempt to do so, they have made Christmas Wreaths of recycled magazines – decorate, wallow in festive mirth and also conserve trees, isn’t that a beautiful move. I am loving this whole-hearted, fervent move by a hotel that sits at an exalted position and really doesn’t want to indulge in reckless, uneconomical la-di-da oddities. You could also pick from gorgeous and delectable array of Santa Chocolates, breads, croissants, cakes, gingerbread house and muffins displayed at the Bakery.
