How does it feel to lay your hands on everything your heart’s ever yearned for – stylish, provocative, sensuous, dreamy, flowy, delicate, precious – without having to go scavenging, really? Wicked, uh! Well, yes it was exactly that at the Hyatt Regency when the gates were left unlatched for the S & S Trunk Show, ‘Monsoon Mayhem’ – a pool of society ladies and fashionistas left their mundane behind to drown in this ecstasy. Just to give our car in the valet, my friend Natasha, who was already jaded trying to cope up with the torrent of cars, gushing people and fervid love for fashion, and I, took 30 minutes. Unruly crowd led to mismanagement and their were people soaking up the heat just waiting for their cars but if we saw the good behind such frenzy, there definitely was. “Crowd is good for us, the more people get associated with the experience and joy, better for us”, exclaimed with a seraphic smile, Shreya Dalmia Agarwal, the co-conceptualizer of the ‘Monsoon Mayhem’.
The 15th season of the extravaganza – a full day of high fashion, luxury and style was put together by the Bon vivant duo, Sonam Pall and Shreya Dalmia Agarwal. Under their huge fashion & luxury umbrella 70 and more domestic and international brands showcase their spectacular products and expertise. From Designer bags, gleaming jewelry, fab clothes to delectable nibbles and awesome accessories, this place was a heaven on earth. To add to the misery (for me) was the fact that everything was super subsidized – so by the time I got free from my press meet, the ladies with microscopic vision and taste had already picked up the best ones. Sonam elaborated, “it’s quite an experience for people who come here and our aim is to expose more people to the joy and glamour of trunk show shopping”.
The S & S Trunk Show serves as the platform for upcoming as well as established designers to participate and showcase in the meticulously thought out and well structures trunk shows. The list of participating brands were : Valliyan, Sidhartha Tytler, Tory Burch, Versace, Coach, Ted Baker, Michael Kors, Armani, Valentino, Ridhi Arora, House of Kish and Magic creations (Pakistan) just to name a few.
The day mustn’t have seen a dull moment in all certainty as my short visit was quite bright and memorable – just adding to the love of fashion, meeting my friends over coffee and canapés took it a notch higher.
Great put up!
